It Should Be A Natural Right But This Is Still Pretty Cool

Hunting and fishing licenses piss me off. There, I said it.
Having to pay to visit a park pisses me off even more.

I can see the logic behind it so you that were going to chime in about how the government needs to have funding to take care of this stuff can just shut the fuck up before you get started..

You can not tell me that our government doesn't piss away more than enough money in other places that they couldn't afford to stick money in the budget for the agencies involved, it's a money making scam for them and they still cry poor every damn year. The fishing industry alone in this country is over a Billion dollar a year industry. Find another way to finance these government agencies.

That being said, this is a good idea in my opinion.

Pay the fucking license fee once and be done with it for life.

Six-month-old baby gets lifetime hunting licence in US

 

Daylen Brickley, a baby from the US state of New Hampshire, is the proud owner of a lifetime permit to hunt and fish - the first licence holder under a new program.

His fishing licence is valid, but he will need to complete a hunter safety course before receiving that permit.
His mother, Erica Brickley, is not concerned about his future training.
The whole family was raised around hunting and fishing, "so I figure he'll kind of get in the swing of things".
"It was only natural to kind of keep it going," she told the New Hampshire Union Leader.
On Tuesday officials began offering The Newborn Lifetime Combination Hunting and Fishing License to residents under one year old. Daylen is six months old.
Lifetime permits are available to adults as well, but for a higher price.
The only negative feedback the department has received so far is from parents of toddlers who are slightly too old to apply for the less expensive lifetime permit, according to Evan Mulholland, an official with New Hampshire Fish and Game.
He said the programme was created to reduce obstacles to young hunters as they are introduced to the activity.

No more hassle every damn year.

What is really a pain in the ass here in Washington state is that the fishing license goes from March to March.

Really?

Who's the genius behind that?

It get more expensive every year too, just like clockwork.

I don't even know what a complete combination hunting/ fishing license costs anymore but I can guarantee you it is well over two hundred dollars because way back in the early nineties I was behind some guy getting his hunting licenses, deer, elk, bear, cougar, everything and it was a hundred and twenty five back then Note that did not include a fishing license.

They have these all broken down so that you have to have a permit or a license for several different activities and even went so far a few years ago to implement a "Warm Water Fish Enhancement " fee that they so gleefully sicced the Game Wardens loose looking for.

That meant even little kids had to pay an extra five dollars for an endorcement for Crappie, Blue Gill and Bass or face an outrageous fine.

It is literally impossible to keep up with the rules and regulations for fishing in this state.
The synopsis they print out is obsolete before the ink is dry and I am not kidding.

There are days I get seven or eight!

CORRECTION: This rule change (originally sent July 29) has been corrected to include the closure of river tributaries to fishing.

Quillayute River system tributaries to close  

Action:  Closes the Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Calawah, and Dickey rivers and all their tributaries, and upper 475 yards of the Quillayute River to all fishing.
Effective date:   Aug. 1, 2015, until further notice.
Species affected:  All species. 
Location:  The Dickey River, Sol Duc River, Calawah River, Bogachiel River and all tributaries. The Quillayute River from the confluence of the Sol Duc and Bogachiel Rivers downstream 475 yards to fluorescent orange paint on rocks.
Reason for action:  Low water and higher than normal water temperatures are causing a delay in migration and increased stress on wild salmon returning to the Quillayute system, making them more vulnerable to fishing pressure.  This is likely to remain a problem until stream flows increase. The Quileute Tribe has also closed its fishery for two weeks, and will re-assess the situation at that time.  These closures are needed to protect wild chinook and coho salmon.

Over the course of a year I would estimate that they send out four or five HUNDRED of these.

Micro management at it's finest and they still can't maintain the fish stocks in this state.

I would ask anyone  who still has their sanity intact how someone is supposed to be able to stay current on the fishing rules in this state.
They change the rules, WHILE YOU ARE OUT FISHING!!

So I am all for paying for a license one time for life and make that nation wide.
Then we can get down to the nitty gritty and figure out how to fund these regulatory agencies run amok.
