Man Arrested Driving Vehicle Stolen From Oregon Wildlife Refuge

This kind of stupidity should be painful.

Police say man arrested in US vehicle stolen from Oregon refuge

Authorities arrested a man they said was driving a government vehicle stolen from a wildlife refuge being occupied by an armed group protesting federal land policies as the standoff in Oregon's high desert hit the two-week mark.

Kenneth Medenbach, 62, of Crescent was arrested by Oregon State Police at a grocery store in Burns for investigation of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. It was unclear if he has a lawyer. Medenbach is already facing charges in U.S. District Court in Medford after authorities said he illegally camped on federal land between May and November last year, according to federal court records.

Authorities also say they recovered a second stolen vehicle from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge but provided no other details. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service previously reported the vehicles had been stolen.

So far, authorities have not tried to remove the group from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. As the situation drags on, people in the local area are growing increasingly weary and wary of the group.

What is the thought process here, they aren't using it?
Nobody will notice if I just run down to the store for a pack of smokes?

Dumbass.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle that belongs to the Feds?

You can kick the seriousness of that charge up about ten notches.

Oil Goes Under $30 A Barrel, Dow Jones Jumps Off A Cliff

The fuckers are as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Breaks my heart.

Dow plummets as oil prices sink

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down more than 500 points in midday trading Friday, falling below 16,000, as oil prices sank below $30 a barrel.
The index recovered slightly but was still down more than 350 points at 3 p.m.

Rule 5

I've been busier than Hell the past couple days having to work late for one and taking care of other shit before I have to go for another.
Don't see any let up for a bit, maybe this weekend.
In the mean time, enjoy.

Blindsided

I got a phone call last night when I was on break when I could actually hear my phone from a number over in Oregon that I didn't recognize. Out of curiousity I answered it and some guy says " Hi Phil, it's Steve".

Silence on my part for a second or two while I wracked my brain trying to figure out who in the fuck I knew named Steve that lived in Oregon.
I finally asked , "Steve who?"

"Steve Arsehole, your landlord!" (Last name changed for obvious reasons but it's close enough)

"Oh, hi Steve, long time since I talked to you, whats up?"

"I need you to move out."

More silence as I try to process that.

"Ummm, OoooK, have you talked to my wife about this yet?'

"No, I wanted to talk to you first, man to man."

"OK, I appreciate that."

"I'm getting divorced and need  my house back"

Meanwhile I am still trying to process the first statement.

I finally got over the shock and asked what kind of timeline I was looking at and he says the end of February.
He starts babbling about how he knows how hard it is to find a place because how he has been looking and he he feels bad, blah blah blah .
Then he starts in saying how he knows we have been so good about paying the rent on time and he hopes we have been taking good care of his place and yadda yadda yadda. By this time I am pretty much done talking because I am getting pissed off so I told him I would talk to my wife and we would try to find a place ASAP. and that I was at fucking work and had to go.

Fuck, me.

Rent around here is outrageous and places are virtually impossible to find that take people who smoke, have SIX FUCKING CATS , two kids and three fucking cars plus an entire garage full of tools.. On top of that, the kid is six months away from graduating High School so that is going to be an issue I can tell already.

This is going to be a nightmare so if it gets quiet around here you will just have to understand that I am going to be busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest here real shortly.

The garage alone is going to be a fucking nightmare to get packed up and anyplace we find HAS to have one or I will be forced to put all that shit in storage which I DO NOT WANT TO DO.

Yay.
Right in the dead of fucking Winter to boot.

All I can think is that God must have a plan here, things happen for a reason and He has always taken care of my sorry ass in the past, one way or another.

I am putting this in His hands and hoping that this is actually an opportunity in disguise.. Either way it is His Will and I am going to do what I can to find a place and make arrangement to get as much help as possible lined up for when we do move.

All that stuff out in the garage is heavier than shit and I am flat out too damn old now to be trying to move that shit by myself.

ONE toolbox alone probably weighs close to five hundred pounds, you don't just wheel those things up onto a lift gate  by yourself and I have 3 of those alone.
Engine hoist, engine stand, with a Chevy 350 bolted onto it, oh this is going to be a joy.
That garage is so full ya can't hardly get around in it.

It is what it is , I'll try and keep posting until I can't and then go from there.

It usually only takes a few minutes to knock out a quicky post so stay tuned, there will be pissing and moaning coming for your entertainment at the very least because no matter what, there always seems to be some kind of fucking disaster lurking just around the corner when shit like this comes down the pike.

Obama Goes Pinocchio

Says he regrets not being able to unite the political divides in this country.

If it wasn't such a bald faced lie it would be hilarious.

Ahead of speech, Obama has regrets over U.S. political divisions

U.S. President Barack Obama voiced regret for failing to unite Washington since taking office on a wave of hope in 2009, as he prepared to give a State of the Union speech on Tuesday to launch his final year in the White House.

Asked about his inability to heal America's political divisions, Obama told NBC's "Today" show, "It's a regret."

The president planned to speak optimistically about America's future in his speech in Congress, one of his few remaining chances to capture and hold the attention of millions of Americans before the Nov. 8 election of a new president who will take office next January.

The Democratic president will give his final State of the Union address as campaign rhetoric for November's presidential election intensifies with candidates fighting over illegal immigrants, wage inequality and violence.

In a reflective mood, Obama said in the NBC interview that he could have done a better job talking to the country during his presidency so he could "communicate constantly and with confidence."

"Particularly during times of stress, the American people need to hear from their president in terms of what it is exactly that we're trying to do. Things that I’ve done well during the campaign I've not always done well as president." he said.

Aides said Obama will try to generate support for issues he has been unable to resolve such as a Pacific trade pact, tighter gun laws and closure of the Guantanamo Bay prison.

This man has done more to rip the fabric of this country than anyone else in recent memory.
He does however, know how to bullshit people and this is a perfect example.

He has exactly 373 more days to wreak his havoc and then he is out forever.
That is plenty of time for him to do some more "Fundamental Transformation".

David Bowie Has Died

That's two, both from cancer. Fuck cancer.
They say that these come in threes so now we wait and see who's next.
I have to admit up front that I was never a big fan but there is no denying the man had a huge influence on the music scene and in film also.

David Bowie, 69, barrier-breaking rock star and actor, has died

By Steve Appleford and Matt Hamilton

David Bowie, the barrier-breaking British rock musician and actor, has died at the age of 69, just days after releasing a critically acclaimed album on his birthday.

Bill Zysblat, his business manager of 34 years, confirmed to The Times that Bowie died Sunday after an 18-month battle with cancer.

Bowie never stopped innovating. During his initial rise in the 1970s, he produced an astonishing range of work, from cosmic folk ("Space Oddity") and glam rock ("Ziggy Stardust") to blue-eyed soul ("Young Americans") and electronic experiments with Brian Eno ("Heroes").

His stardom hit new heights in 1983 when he appeared on the cover of Time magazine with the worldwide success of “Let's Dance.”

A statement posted to his official Facebook page said Bowie "died peacefully today surrounded by his family" and asked for privacy for his family during their time of grief.

It looks Like I'll Be Able To Eat Next Week At Least

Seattle pulled out a squeaker of a win over the Vikings when the Vikings kicker missed an easy field goal with 26 seconds left in the game.

I had to take the kid to work at the beginning of the Third Quarter and it wasn't looking good for the Seahawks at that time.
He remembered when Seattle lost the Superbowl last year that my wife was so despondent that she basically didn't cook anything for a month.

I'd survive either way, she was gone to her folks yesterday and I had been hankering some real food for a while so I dug out my Cast Iron frying pans and went down to the little Mexican store where I got 5 pounds of potatoes, some fresh cut Pork Chops and some onions.
I came home and fried the shit out of the Pork chops, stuck them in the oven to keep them warm and then fried the shit out of some potatoes and onions.

Real food. I live on sandwiches and breakfast bowls all week so when the weekends roll around I want something substantial.

I pigged out man.

So if Seattle winds up choking, I know how to cook pretty damn good when I want to and ain't gonna starve, even if my poor wife throws herself into the pity pit.

She puts the Fan in Fanatic for sure.

I love her dearly.

No Winner In Tonights Powerball Drawing, Jackpot Now Up To 1.3 BILLION Dollars

Wait until next week.
That's more money than the budget of some small countries.

No winning Powerball tickets sold; jackpot hits $1.3 billion
Los Angeles Times | January 9, 2016 | 10:50 PM

The winning numbers for the largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history were drawn Saturday evening, and officials confirmed there was no winner in the $949.8-million Powerball drawing.

While it would be real nice not to be close to broke all the time, the nightmare that is going to come along for the ride with that much money would make me want to disappear.

This Is What Is Wrong With This Country
