So, I Wake Up To This Today....

Wonderful.
I'm just glad it wasn't worse.

I suppose it's a not so gentle reminder for me to get my shit together.

More thermal underwear, ice melting shit for the windshield, gloves, go around and make sure all the openings under the house are covered up and all that happy shit.
I did go out and roll up the garden hoses and put the little styrofoam covers over the faucets last week after I got done cleaning out the gutters in the rain.

Gonna need to get some tires put on the rig too.

Yay.

SNAFU

You know, same ol' same ol'.
I spent a few hours yesterday helping some friends move, the poor guy is laid up and can't put any weight on his foot.
It killed him but he sent out an email blast looking for some help and a whole bunch of people showed up.
That was nice.
As usual though, I keep forgetting that every time I look in the mirror I see my Grandfather peering back at me so I over did it a bit.
My lower back was killing me after a few hours and it got so bad I started limping, trying to keep the weight off my right leg.
I finally begged off after the big loads got handled while there were still several people around to finish up.
I hope.
There was a lot of stuff there.
Because I am an idiot sometimes and always a glutton for punishment, after I put my feet up for about an hour it took the pressure off the nerves in my lower back so I got up and went over to a buddy from works place about a mile from here and loaded up a vintage table saw.
More fucking pain right away, the damn thing has a huge fucking electric motor hanging off the back side that runs a belt.
I shot the shit with him for a while then came home, grabbed the kid and unloaded the heavy fucker onto a four wheel moving cart so I could get it in the garage.

I fucked with it for just a little while looking it over then bagged it and came in the house and put my damn feet up again.
I sat here for a while then went back out in the garage to get some numbers off the vintage lawn mower I tore into last weekend.
I'm not having any luck on the Briggs and Stratton website identifying the engine because it's so old and I need to fix the vintage mower so I can get it out of the way to make room to get the vintage walk behind tractor in.

Starting to see a pattern here?

I love old machinery.

So I have all that shit going on and I finally just fell asleep in my recliner late last night because I was exhausted.

I got woke up this morning by the phone.

Work.

Again.

Fuck me runnin'.

So I had to get up and go in there for four fucking hours this morning.

Right this minute I am watching the Raiders and the Bills game, the Raiders just this second scored a touchdown to go ahead after being behind most of the game.

Then I am going back out in the garage when this is over.

So now you know why no new posts most of the weekend, SNAFU, busy as hell and not much really getting accomplished.

I Need To Get Off My Ass And Put Some Tunes In My Rig

I replaced the dash speakers a couple of weeks ago in my vehicle.
The original 1983 AM-FM radio is still in the dash and it works, kind of. As with most old radios like that, the switches have gotten dirty contacts and the sound is less than optimal to begin with.

The antenna mount on the fender is really loose so I just took the whip off last year and threw it under the seat.
This makes for VERY limited channel selection , when I can pick up any at all.

The other night when I was coming home from work I flipped the thing on and started the usual fruitless search for some tunes. It's only a fifteen minute drive but what the hell, ya know?
I actually found a radio station that was coming in strong.

It was playing Christmas music....

I hate Christmas music.

I started cursing under my breath and twisting the knob but it was that or nothing.
So I am driving along and waiting for this Christmas tune to get done so they could move on to something else.
No dice, another one comes on immediately.
I turned the volume down a little and kept on my way home.
I listened to that shit out of one ear all the way home and as I got to within a block of my house the announcer comes on and gives the call sign for the station and then I hear,
PORTLAND'S ONLY 24 HOUR CHRISTMAS MUSIC STATION.

*Click*.

You gotta be shittin' me.
It wasn't even December yet.

The wife just asked me what I want for Christmas.

I'm thinking new fucking stereo.

It's going to be a long month kids.

One Of Those Moments When You Really Want To Slap A Kids Mother, Hard

She is damn lucky that wasn't me.
The kid would be on his ass wondering what the fuck just happened and I would be in her face yelling at her at the top of my lungs to teach the little fucking bastard some manners.

Wait Your Turn Eunice

Mom Must Be So Proud

Skanky lookin' Ho to begin with, the matching anklets are the perfect accessories.

40 Mile Police Chase, 22 Cops, 500 Rounds Fired, 497 Missed, "We Didn't Want To Kill Him".....

It sounds like the plot to the Blues Brothers movie, I'm surprised they didn't shoot each other.

500 shots fired, 40-mile police chase ended with shootout in Avondale

A man accused of abducting a woman on the north shore surrendered to authorities late Tuesday night following a police pursuit that zigzagged more than 40 miles and an intense gun battle in which law enforcement unleashed more than 500 rounds.

The accused kidnapper, Christopher Garcie, was hit three times but largely avoided the barrage of bullets as he took cover on the floorboard of his overturned pickup, which he crashed in a ditch near the foot of the Huey P. Long Bridge in Avondale, authorities said.

Garcie, 41, opened fire on law enforcement at least four times, and he continued waving his 9 mm pistol outside the pickup even after the crash, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said.

"It looked to us that he was videoing us on his cellphone as to what we were doing, as well as yelling vulgarities at us and making some demands of us during that period of time," Normand said.

Deputies deployed a robot to the site and used the device to monitor Garcie's movements on their iPads. The man dropped his weapon and surrendered after speaking with his mother, who came to the scene, and a team of negotiators that joined dozens of law enforcement officers.

In all, 21 Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies and one state trooper fired at Garcie, using 28 weapons.

Normand told reporters that law enforcement had "every opportunity" to kill Garcie. "That's not what we wanted to do," he added. "We wanted to bring this to a successful conclusion by trying to talk him out of this particular situation."

But the sheriff said deputies also had difficulty hitting Garcie due to the deployment of his airbag and the angle at which his pickup came to rest in the ditch. "I suspect that is why the elimination of the threat was never successfully accomplished by us during this engagement," Normand said.

Garcie, a Kenner man with a lengthy criminal history, was booked on a host of counts, including attempted first-degree murder and aggravated flight.
